A Strong Foundation for Student Success

Amigos de Longfellow Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit educational foundation with the mission to strengthen support for Longfellow Spanish Immersion Magnet School in San Diego, CA by providing targeted funding that empowers the school to improve student achievement, performance and well-being.

School Programs

Playground Partners

YMCA playground partners come to engage our students during lunch to encourage safe and structured play while reducing bullying on the playground.

Tutoring & Mentoring Support

One-on-one intervention support to increase academic support for students. Mentoring programs connect students with mentors who provide guidance, support, and encouragement.

Teachers Aides

Additional support in the classroom, assisting with small-group instruction, classroom management, and individual student support.

Teacher Projects

Teachers are currently leading a project to finish building a gym funded by a grant partnership from the LA Chargers Foundation.

Safety Patrol

5th & 6th Grade Students promote the safe crossing for families to and from school to maximize the safety of students at all times.

Musical Theater

Musical Theatre was launched by a grant in partnership with the La Jolla Playhouse.

Music Programs

To increase access to music to complement the district music programs in some grades, many students come before school to learn drums, guitar and voice to prepare them to play in high school bands one day!

Sports Programs

Support for sports equipment and infrastructure to build student skills for middle school sports.
